I will never understand...

This kind of face jewellery.

I appreciate creativity - but WTF?
The second ring up there, is pretty cool  *throws up Vulcan salute*...but the other stuff?
Obviously, if it was in some sort of photoshoot, then there's possibily an excuse...I can see why it looks cool - but in regular everyday life? Hell No! B.S!!

Anyways, the jewellery was created by Imme van der Haak. If it ever becomes a trend, we know who to blame thank.
Pssht! You never know...it could be the next Ugg boots, taliban scarf etc.

If anyone does buy any of the jewellery, feel free to send a pic or something! So we can laugh at yo ass!
Lol I joke.

Educaton

When we spend a whole 3 or 4 terms on school, college or university, we think "I can't wait for the holidays! I'm going to do this, and that, and some more of that!" Well when you actually get to the summer holidays particularly everything just seems to go wrong. One of the main things I planned to do this summer was to find myself in Thorpe Park. Needless to say those plans flopped but I'm not here having a little rant about how a lot of my friends let me down and didn't get back to me therefore the whole planned day being a total disaster and spent either at home of Ashford. I don't remember quite well.  I must say this summer has been one of the worst having looked vigorously for jobs and not having found just one. But all that aside, I think it's been my most productive and beneficial to my future and the lives of others too.  Well now that the summer is almost over I've just received an email telling me when I'm going back into education and I feel like everything I had planned within the remaining weeks have all been limited to fit in a limited time. But I'm a hard worker so I figure I'll get it done. Not with ease but it can only make me stronger.  Anyways guys, back to work!
Somthing I've been working on...

The COLOUR of BEAUTY

Does beauty have a color?

Renee Thompson is a 24 year old, black model.
In this is mini documentary, she gives an insight into the struggle black models go through to make it big in the modelling industry.
The video is about 17 min long and appeared on NFB earlier this year.

The whole "white girl dipped in chocolate statement" was a harsh realization that big lips and big noses, typical African features do not "work" in the modelling industry.

"Because they're black and black doesn't sell. Point blank. Money is green and white people have the money, white people are gonna buy from white people." - Dallas J. Logan
Opinion?

For years, it has been argued that not only has there been a lack of ethnic models in on magazine covers, let alone being represented on the runway.

Jezebel did a tally of black models in fashion editorials this August.
The results were mostly 0. (Read article here)
It would be wrong to say that there aren't any new famous black models. We have: Chanel Iman, Oluchi Onweagba, Sessilee Lopez, Jourdan Dunn, Eva Marcille etc etc.

I don't know if it can necessarily be called racism, but there's definitely a set look that designers go far.
It's like they just add token black models, just for the sake of it and that shouldn't be the case.
You would think things would have changed, it's 2010, but it's as if people are stuck in the past.

But, really, will things ever change?
I wish Renee Thompson the best and I hope she finally reaches her dreams!

The VMA's!

So yesterday night, the VMA's aired in the UK.
I didn't actually watch the whole of the VMA's as I get bored of garbage easily, so I simply watched the performances online :)

So, let's start with the performances:

The Good:
Kanye West ft Pusha T "Runaway"
"Let's have to toast to the douchebags" is stuck in my head loool

By  the way, Pusha T confirmed:“I’m definitely signed with G.O.O.D. Music. I’m definitely doing my solo project through G.O.O.D. Music. The Clipse is definitely coming with a new Clipse project. We’re definitely coming with the Re-Up Game project. The family is still here, man. It’s just all about G.O.O.D. Music, straight up.”

Drake, Mary J Blige and Swizz Beats "Oh you fancy huh"

Note: Definitely didn't enjoy the performance...I guess it's just here because of the songs *shrugs*

B.O.B, Bruno Mars and Hayley Williams

The Bad:Nicki Minaj ft Will.i.am "Check It Out"
I love both artists, but this was just rubbish.

The Crusty:
Okay, is this a diss song or she's reminiscing or what?
Like this situation happened last year. We're all over it now. So wtf?
That's all I have to say...

The Funny:
Not "hahaha" funny but you get what I mean...

On a whole, there was nothing exciting about this year's VMA's. Not really a surprise, isit?

Reality

So recently I was introduced to the tv show "Bad Girls Club" and boy-oh-boy I'm glad to be a male. No lie.

It's like these girls had to feed off each other in one way or another. The excuse of being sexually frustrated was thrown around quite a lot and if I'm honest, I think that was complete bull. They all had something to prove and they needed that to be shown. Its like Big Brother in the UK.

At the beginning people weren't as aware of the cameras around the house. Heck, it used to be jokes watching people naked in the shower and on the toilet thinking they weren't being seen. Little did they know aye?
But nowadays everybody that goes in that house knows what they are in for and you can never really tell who's being tel and who's being fake in that house for example, Alex or the bully as people think she was, how do you know she's actually like that in life? I mean, for all we know she could be a target and big bro was her chance to get famous and have constant security. Now I'm not saying this is the case, in actual fact, she scares me lol. But really, just because they portray themselves as something on Big Brother doesn't mean they are like that.

Back to the main topic, I might come back to this subject later...

So... Bad Girls Club. I watched the whole of season 4 in one day including the two part special reunion. As sad as that may be, I found it highly entertaining. The fights were hilarious. And I'm not a person to care for people on tv shows like that but I actually managed to know their names. The people that know me well are gasping right now, so to them I say, I KNOW!!!

So there was; Kendra; Annie; Natalie; Florina; Amber; Portia and Portia's replacement Lexie.

Now if you ask me, the person with the most to prove was the self proclaimed, Queen of Los Angeles, Natalie.
I think deep down she had a life that she was afraid of going back to so she put up this front and had probably the most insecurities in the house. Now for the brutal honesty. Her Jay Leno chin was disgusting. Someone said it just seems like an "invitation for a guy to buss a nut on it". I'll reserve my comment on that but for all of you that know me well, ¬_¬

Let's continue. Her celebrity friends, ok some of them were famous in America (maybe) and some were on RUGBY (American football) teams or Basketball teams but when you class Myles from Moesha as a celebrity, you lose all respect. Sorry but that's like rating Mary-Kate and Ashley. Who does it?
Kid actors don't always go through fame-puberty and come out the other side still famous. It just so happens you BFF is one of those that have no rep in life anymore and I think if you stick with him and accept that fact that he's not a celeb, that he's not famous and that you get no extra rep for knowing him, Then we can accept you for a normal whore. Yes I said it. Comments welcome.
-------------------------------------
***NEWSFLASH***
Apparently she has a man now... If it's Olamide, please note, not all Nigerian guys are bitchy men... most of them are uncles that move little girls or are cool... (Im in that cool catergory). If it's not Olamide, that guy is one stupid dude...
-------------------------------------
Flo was scary, Annie was a ditzzz, Amber wasn't as hard as she wanted to be but that's ok because she "BROKE" Flo's ankle, Kate was a lying, cheating racist (no, no, no she wasn't racist! She had a coloured tv! *stolen joke*), Kendra was kind of hot but I think she'd sex me dry if I'm honest, Portia is a great mum (not mom) although I have no idea how she's bringing up her daughters and Lexie was pure entertainment.  But after watching, what did the season establish? At least with "Flavour of Love" and "I Love New York" they won something at the end no matter how shieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet the prizes were. I guess this is one of those American "everyones a winner" bull-ish lines that slap the rest of us across the face.  If I could throw 7 girls into a house together... Well heres my list.  - Makosi -Anyone that wanted to beat her up lol Nah if I'm honest I haven't really thought about it but I'd love Makosi to be in another house. I want to know of she can actually back her talk up no matter how weak it may be.  Let me not be a bully right now but I'll say this, if she admitted it, we'd all be a lot happier but her country will always hate her. We'll accept her with open zippers! (Such a Deez Nuts moment) Ooh, ooh, ooh! I'd also like to see Charlie in the house and maybe... Superhead, Tiny AND Toya, Lindsey Lohan, Megan Fox and another White female because let's face it, a house with too many black girls would not last for more than a week.

Before every black female reading this jumps down my throat, think about it. A bunch of girls you can't stand or get along with. All that oestrogen. All that weave being bad mouthed. Someone will lose an eye. Standard.

Ok. I said I might come back to Big Bro and here we are but I feel like this is just going to be an attack on Makosi. Whatever the case may be, I'm glad its over, yeah I'll miss Davina a little bit but this finale had nothing on Wossy's (Johnathan Ross) last show. I nearly cried for that one, no lie.
But anyway I feel like if they really wanted to find the ultimate Big Brother housemate, they should have thrown every single housemate ever in there and have a cramped house and evict them 5 at a time.

Now let's analyse this.
From Endomol's view, imagine all those people calling in and boosting your viewings thus bringing in a lot more money.

Safety point of view, this isn't a smart idea because something could go wrong and people could get hurt but let's face it, we could do without a lot of them not being here anymore.

Viewers view, this would give a wider variety to pick from and then Channel 4 wouldn't tell us who the greatest housemate of all time was but rather, we'd tell Channel 4 who it ACTUALLY was. But that said, congrats to that guy, whatever your name is, I hope you do get presenting jobs because I think you can talk a lot and have the whole country eluded easily.
All 3 views considered, it's a GREAT idea and I thought of it 1st!

I've given you too much to read so let me leave it there. In a little bit guys.

Fantasia, Fantasia, Fantasia

(Photo from Necole Bitchie)

Recently, Fantasia, also dubbed as one of three homewreckers of the year, attempted to commit suicide. She overdosed on aspirins and sleep aids, although, this was said not to be life threatening.
Background info:

For those who don't know, Fantasia has/had been allegedly dating Antwaun Cook, a married man; although, Fantasia said she had believed they were separated already.
His wife, Paula Cook, didn't agree.
In the words of The YBF:
"These two were first spotted getting extra cozy at a club in Antwaun’s hometown of Charlotte, NC. Antwaun abruptly left his wife
the second week in September, and the next week Fanny had his name tattooed on her shoulder! *side eye* Fantasia then began missing shows for “The Color Purple” when Antwaun came into town. Fantasia claims she did not break up Antwaun’s home and that they are “just friends” but we beg to differ Fanny"

With all the media hubbabaloo and the lawsuit, Fantasia was at her last tether and attempted to committ suicide.

Yesterday, she went on "The Wendy Williams Show" and broke down: "At that time, I wasn't thinking about ANYBODY"

We've all heard the saying: "You can't help who you fall in love with", to a certain extent that is true.
Can Fantasia really be called a "a homewrecker" if the home wasn't broken to begin with? (According to the couple)
I don't feel that it would be right for me to judge Fantasia, but her suicide attempt was obviously a desperate cry for help. Her crying on the show,
showed that to a certain degree, Fanny is slowly realizing the implications of her actions.

In no way, do I condone suicide, because, personally, I feel suicide is never the right way out.
In life, we all need to learn how to take responsibility for our behaviour, think of others involved in our lives and take the ups and down "on the chin".
No one ever said it was gonna be easy.

iPod Touch

So I'm a bit of an apple geek and so you know how excited I was when I saw the iPhone 4 when it came out... Wow I had my hopes set on that! But to get that meant a whole new contract which really wasn't realistic plus my upgrade is due soon AND on top of that, I have other important things to save up for.

So.... I've put the iPhone on hold especially since there have been talks about the"4G" (THE REAL 4G AND NOT THE CRAP NOOBS ARE TALKING ABOUT) and decided to wait for that one or just get it whenever I feel the need to... But in the meant time, I've just ordered my new iPod touch, meaning i'd have two touch's, 1 nano and 2 mini's (lurking in my house)

*told you i was an apple geek*

Anyways, have a look at this for all who haven't seen it.

Not a post

Alright... THIS IS NOT A NEW POST... Even though it looks like one... ¬_¬

I got a complaint from a certain someone about not having my own pic up on this bloggy thingy... so to satisfy that ONE PERSON (or Diane) here's a picture of me...

CEO.

Introduction...number 2!

Introduction number 2!
As you may know, there's more than one face behind Black Crayon.

Well, I'm Diane.
Currently studying: Psychology, Biology, History and English Literature!
LOL weird that it has nothing to do with media, right?

Photography and graphic design has always been a passion, that started out of making myspace layouts *face in hands* and it started from there!
My position in Black Crayon is as the P.A! So, yeah, that makes Yemi my boss *gags* :)

If I could describe my self in only three words, I would say: intelligent, self-confident and upfront.
But obviously, through my blogging you'll get to see much more of me!

I love to make people laugh and smile, which hopefully my posts will succeed in; but that doesn't mean that my blog will only be about jokes!
I also aim to blog about stuff like: life, celeb news, fashion and of course photography - duh!

A favourite quote of mine: "And why do we fall? ...So we can learn how to pick ourselves up." - Batman.

Anyways,  Bon nuit!
Peep my next posts for more on me and other stuff ;)
