Good deeds reap rewards!

Hi,

So I went to do a photo shoot with a few fashion students. Great girls, lovely people. Despite the weather, I actually had a good time. But today was a monster of days, as fun as it may have been, the snow was a killer! shooting in the snow whilst the model (Jo - not that you know her) was wearing next to nothing. So a big thumbs up to her. She was so patient. As we're going to leave, the vehicle I'm driving decides its not going to move on the snow. Well ice really.
Some how, I got it turned around but eventually, it wouldn't move forward or backwards but it did inconveniently start to move towards the car next to me. Without care I would have hit. Had to stop and think of a solution when out of nowhere a guy comes from his taxi with a shovel and grit. What a life saver!!

Anyway, here's some of the pics from all three shoots.

Enjoy.

Pow 2010/2011 cont. AGAIN!

This tune will unfortunately be big over Christmas... But only because Maxta sent for Chippy, and because Sway duppied the track twice over without thinking.
Maxta has just reminded me why I loved grime, all he needs to do is find the balance, appeal to larger audiences and he'll probably be bigger than Chippy whilst considering a lot of females like Chip because they are in some way physically/sexually attracted to him. I guess it works out for Chippy init?

Ahhhhhh listen to the madness!!!

And wait, ain't that Griminal at the end or am I getting people mixed up?

WOW 2011 - POW 2010/2011 cont.

Can I just say, when this was brought to my attention, instantly I thought Lethal is a doughnut for not letting Sway do whatever he wanted to do. Completely finished the track with no effort!

Pow 2010/2011

Pow? Again? Really?

What's Lethal really up to? First he comes out with "let's get pow to number one this Christmas" which, let's be real, was never going to happen. Pow was good in its time be be serious!! How many years after are you going to now resurrect an old song and try and get it to number one!? If I'm honest, that is a stupid idea!

Ok so now he brought this to our ears. At first I thought this might actually be good, I'll give it a chance. Oh how wrong I was. The only person I actually enjoyed listening to on it was Kano and I don't even think that was him at his best. Wiley gave me jokes and I think he entertained many other people.

JME sounded like he just wanted to feature. He took an 8 from his album and sent it to Lethal. C'mon, this isn't the JME we used to go mad over. Those Adidas hoodie lines and "SERIOUS"... Gone are those days I guess.

Strangely a bunch of people asked me how they got all these guys together to record this track (As if I'm Lethal) but according to Lethal they sent their 8's from around the world. Wiley was in Jamaica, Kano was in America. He could tell me Ghettz sent his from prison and I'd believe because I truly don't see P Money and Ghettz in a studio together. Have they even quashed their beef? Was it even real? If you know, drop a comment below. I'd love to discuss this. Thanks.

I was talking to my friend today and she was telling me that people are gassed up off this tune and they have stated, AND I QUOTE, "Pow 2011 is much better than 'Game Over' by Tinchy n co."
This pissed me right off! Am I an idiot? All people that believe this should jump in a hold and never return. What a stupid thing to say.
You have people on a track that have found the balance between mainstream and grime, make a tune that is accepted by everyone (ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO PAY FOR IT), featuring people that started with grime (don't really know where Giggs came from), and murdered it like re-offenders.
Pow 2010/2011 was an old artist trying to bring his career back to life with the same song he had when he started, bringing some artists that are known but not to the extent they would like to be or maybe should be, people that don't have a deal, people that think they're special although they aren't that big a deal, and a kid that probably feels he has something to prove to his haters by making grime, telling them he's not a complete sell out.
I cry out to Chipmunk, ignore them and do you. The last thing I want is to see Chipmunk dropped by any labels because his talent is just too much. Choose the tracks you jump on carefully.

Left a couple links for you all just in case you hadn't seen or heard anything I'm talking about.

You're probably wondering why this has no proper conclusion, or probably not.
It's 1:38am and I'm ill.
And with that said, goodnight.

Bowling

As many guys yesterday, I was playing the new Call of Duty game. I think This proves I'm not your typically addicted male. During my game play, I got a call asking me to come bowling for a friend's birthday. I thought, hey, why not? And off I went.

As you can guess, I took my camera and took quite a few pics. Everyone complimented them yesterday so I thought I'd share them.

Here you go you lucky guys and girls you!

Anyone seen this? Even in his death, Michael Jackson is stil the greatest artist in the world!

MJB

This is looong overdue but the other day I received a call asking if I wanted to go to a Mary J Blige concert for free. I know right? Insanity. Although I'm not a big fan of her, I'm not going to turn down a free concert.

Another thing I don't really like? Concerts in general. I just think they are very noisy and highly over populated. I feel like it's Lagos but without all the touching of people trying to get you to give them money or buy something. Maybe I'm just a bit of a grinch along with the fact that I don't really like crowds.

Went to go sit down with my camera out and the steward guy tried to tell me I couldn't go in with my SLR. He obviously didn't know I was going in regardless. Anyway, he called a superior over and that dude said it was cool. Wish I has a telescopic lens though.

There were a few opening acts, one female rapper (We all know how that turned out) and Lemar. Yes Lemar for all of you that thought he was dead. He's not dead. He's actually doing quite well. And his band was amazing. And his drummer,  I learnt something last night, I did!

Oh yeah, Gyptian was there too. As you expect him to, he did a few tunes, gassed up all the girls by purring, did "Hold You" and that was his time.
I wonder if I purr at a girl I'd get her number? Or even better, scream at me and take a picture with me whilst her friends know not who I am.
He gets watt too mug ratings. He's not that great.

I had a really crappy seat but then again the concert was free. Beggars can't be choosers. Music was alright, again, not a huge fan.

The main highlights of my night was the way they stopped serving food before she came one therefore starving me whilst listening to her song.
During the concert a woman came and sat next to me. I assumed that was her seat. Whatever the case may be, she casually farted like it was nothing. It stank and filled me with rage.
The amount of females were there was amazing. I would have been scared if thy were all feminists. Intact, if they were, you would not be reading this right now!!!
Dno how well or bad I was dressed, but I caught the attention of a lot of females. A certain female so wanted to say hello. Should have spoken to her. Ah well.

After the concert, Monster (My friend Yvonne) and I went McDonald's and rah ordered legends. Mine was with bacon with mayo n hers was normal wit salsa. Typically, they got it WRONG! They put salsa in both.

Mini rage!

Oh well. Got home and played FIFA Ultimate Team. Joy!!

Enjoy the pics, even though it's hard to make anything out and my seat was probably the worst!

Once again, let me stress how bad my seat was!!!

My friend and c***-block - Monster (Yvonne)

Lemar opening the show in such a fashion. His band was amazing!

ROLL WITH M.E.

So last night was Roll with M.E. a roller disco in Birmingham bringing all 5 uni's together under one roof for a night of fun. Needless to say, it was live!!! I felt to skate but by the time I could, I was worn out BUT that's not to say I can't skate... I'm sort of a pro, but I just don't see myself making a living off roller blading ¬_¬

Bet none of you were buying into that lie... Anyways, here's a few pics from last night.

Enjoy.

Jasmine Mans goes in on Nicki Minaj...

(Nicki Minaj)
 (Jasmine Mans)

Jasmin Mans, a sophomore student and poet performed her piece about Nicki Minaj, at the University of Wisconsin’s 2010 Stomp Da Madness poetry event.

"You have turned your G-spot into a land-mine"

"And you can’t seem to write a rhyme for your broken daughters
Slaughter, bent over back, ass cracked, bitch slapped, in videos
There is nothing pedal bike pretty about broken
Do you know what this media is trying to do to you?"

"I think NYC is making you forget you come from Queens"

"You are being stabbed in the back
Inserted with a wind up string and a tag?"
Was Jasmine straight hating?
I honestly enjoyed the piece, the girl is very talented and creative, her flow, her words, were just on point. Her piece highlights some of the things going wrong with women in the media.

Before Nicki Minaj started this "Barbie" sh*t, her music was definitely good, but as an artist, you do have to grow right? Does her change in music style signal "sell-out"?

Don't get me wrong, I am a fan of (some of) Nicki Minaj's music.
Maybe this piece was a way of encouraging Nicki and possibly other female MC's to rap about more positive things for other young girls/women out there.

All Hip Hop featured her on their site and said:
"This is some powerful material here. Poet Jasmine Mans, a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin, is not a rapper, but she has the intellect of a scholar and the bars of a battle MC. But, her poetry contains venom, yet reads like a cautionary letter. She's got some humdingers like, "Don't let them rape the Assata out of you." and "They will Lauryn Hill you"..."

Whereas, Necole Bitchie featured her also and said:
"In the last ten years, most of the girls that came into the rap game used their sexuality to attract consumers but people were okay with that because for every Foxy Brown & Lil Kim, you had a Missy Elliot or Lauryn Hill to balance it out.
Amongst the men, the expectations for some rappers are lower, because for every Plies, Gucci Mane, Waka Flocka Flame and Soulja Boy (no disrespect to any of these artists), you have a Common, Jay-z, Kanye West, J Cole, & Drake which gives the rap game balance.
With Nicki being the only female rap artist that has that type of commercial success in 2010, people expect her to be everything they want out of the female rap game."

If you wanna see the transcript for this video click here.

Make sure to check CEO's recent post on this issue (of female MC's and sexual themes) and comment - it's definitely an eye-opener!
